Teacher Awareness of Trauma Informed Practice: Raising Awareness In Southeast Georgia

While the concept of trauma-informed care has been developed in other fields, its development within field Education is relatively new (Thomas, Crosby, & Vanderhaar, 2019), However, as educational becoming more and aware this approach, we recognize there a critical need for teachers professionals to symptoms trauma students, associated behaviors trauma-affected instructional environmental strategies addressing these support student success (trauma informed pedagogy). This paper outlines study examining extent which region southeast Georgia are trauma- strategies, theory undergirding resources available them issues related adverse childhood experiences. With participation from over 500 educators our study, it clear that strong provide practice.
